Akeneo integration is a must for ecommerce companies as it is a global leader in PXM and PIM solutions that enables brands and retailers to create an engaging customer experience across all sales channels, enhance the quality of product data, and streamline the management of product catalogues.
This multinational software company enhances the precision and quality of product data, streamlines catalogue administration, and accelerates the distribution of product information across channels and places.
Although, Akeneo offers a large list of partners, users take the advantage of using elastic.io for a deeper and more customized integration with two or more applications that might benefit from an PIM integration.
About elastic.io’s Akeneo integrations connector
This is a proprietary connection for Akeneo’s paid and free versions to make it easier to create business workflow automations. It was created especially to be used in the integration flows of the elastic.io platform and is included by default.
Triggers and actions are both supported by the Akeneo integration connection. This indicates that you can use it to either start an event or react to one already in progress. By utilizing it as a trigger, you may, for instance, obtain each item that was added or changed over a particular period of time.
You can create, alter, or delete Akeneo objects that are new or derived from the record retrieved, such as users, if you utilize it as an action. By clicking the above link, you can access the connector’s documentation page where you can learn more about the possible triggers and actions.
You cannot alter or expand the Akeneo integration connection on your own because it is covered by a proprietary license. Please get in touch with our pre-sales team at [email protected] if you require any additional triggers and/or actions for your integrations in order to talk more about the specifics.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to utilize the Akeneo connection connector in your project, you must have a user account on the elastic.io integration platform. Here you may sign up for a free 14-day trial if you’re new to elastic.io.
How to add Akeneo integrations on elastic.io
As a trigger
Step 1
After creating of your account on the elastic.io platform, go to the Dashboard or Flows sections, select the “Add new Flow” option, then you can either scroll to the bottom or use the search bar to locate the Akeneo connector.
Step 2
While still under development, the Akeneo connector triggers currently offer the feature “Get New and Updated Objects,” which polls for updated data objects like products within a specified period of time.
Step 3
The Akeneo connector can then be further configured as a trigger by choosing which data items you wish to poll (such as products) and, if necessary, specifying a start or end date and time from which the polling should occur.
Step 4
The trigger configuration is then finished, and you can ask for a sample of the records to make sure that you configured Akeneo correctly. You must include an action as your next step if you want to sync with Akeneo and offer a best-in-class product experience, for example, through BigCommerce or Salesforce. This will allow you to evaluate how it operates in an actual business process automation flow.
As an action:
Akeneo as an action works with changes made in another application in your workflow. The setup instructions are essentially the same: select Akeneo from the list of connectors, pick a function, and validate your Akeneo account on the elastic.io platform using your existing or new login information.
You can send unique requests to the Akeneo API endpoints using any of the GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, or DELETE procedures by using the “Make Raw Request” function after the object creation. There are currently other action functions called “Lookup Object” that can be used to look up certain fields using particular criteria and object types (e.g. Akeneo ID).
OUR TIP: To quickly evaluate Akeneo’s action connector settings, start your test flow with our Simple Trigger connector. Just keep in mind that Simple Trigger cannot be used to test how the Akeneo connector receives datasets from other systems because it lacks any contact information-related data items to sync. To fully explore this connector, you must link it with other appropriate elastic.io platform apps.
To learn more about using the Akeneo component, please visit our dedicated documentation page (above link).

If you require a more comprehensive integration solution where you can link Akeneo with other systems like e-commerce, CRM, research apps, or even reporting apps, an iPaaS platform like the one offered by elastic.io would be the best option.
